Sarasota’s Siesta Key Crystal Classic

by | Oct 10, 2012

Planning a trip to beautiful Sarasota, FL?  I cannot think of a better time than during the Crystal Classic held Thursday, November 8, 2012 through Sunday November 11, 2012.   What is the Crystal Classic?   Every November, Siesta Key Beach is turned into a gallery of art by masters and sculptors from around the world.  Created with Siesta’s famous crystal white sand, they look as if they were carved from marble.  We will have artists representing Germany, The Netherlands, Portugal, England, Latvia, and the United States.

The Crystal Classic Vendor Village is open for business from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. The Village is set up around the perimeter of the competition and there will be live music, food & retail vendors.

The Siesta key Crystal Classic is open to the public at no cost.  However, in order to get an up-close view of the Master Sand Sculptures you may want to purchase an admission bracelet for $5.00 per day.

Parking is limited, we highly recommend that attendees park at the satellite lot at Phillippi Estate Park, 5500 South Tamiami Trail, 1.3 miles north of Stickney Point road.  At this lot you may pay $5.00 per carload per day, including round-trip transportation to the event site.

Stick around after you visit the sand sculptures and dine at our many local Siesta Key Restaurants or check out dining in the Sarasota area.

Don’t miss this event!  The sand is beautiful and the sunsets even more beautiful!!
