Thanksgiving is just two days away, I can’t believe it.  Where did 2011 go?  Do you need help getting into the spirit of Christmas like I do?  Here are a few Bradenton family Christmas holiday events to help you ease into the Christmas spirit.

 

Old Fashioned Christmas Village

Friday, Dec 2 6:00p to 9:30p

at Village of the Arts, Bradenton, FL

Stroll the streets of the Village of the Arts during this holiday artwalk. See strolling musicians, vintage holiday decorations, quilts and toys on display, sweet treats in the Village cafes, a holiday tea room and storytelling, Santa and more. Visit more than two dozen galleries, studios and shops and enjoy the festive atmosphere of restored 1920’s and 30’s homes all decorated for the holidays.

 

A Night Before Christmas

Saturday, Dec 3 4:00p to 7:30p

at Gt Bray Park Main Building Movie Room, Bradenton, FL

Santa Claus will fly into G.T. Bray Park by helicopter for the Parks and Recreation Department’s annual “A Night Before Christmas” celebration. Santa’s scheduled landing is 4:00 p.m. Be there early so you
don’t miss it.

There will be a number of family activities to participate in, face painting, bounce houses, an 18’ inflatable slide, trampoline power jump, hayrides, cookie crafts, and of course visits with Santa. read more

Bring the whole family and enjoy bagels, donuts, muffins and other breakfast items donated by local restaurants and businesses. Come enjoy the fun as we spread a little holiday cheer! Call for more information or to donate food items.

 

Living Nativity – Parrish

Friday, Dec 9 6:30p to 9:00p

at Parrish United Methodist Church, Parrish, FL

Take continuous tours on the church grounds of the events leading to the birth of Jesus Christ.
Participants include over 60 church members and several live animals.
Come to the 10th Annual Living Nativity and be blessed by the joy of Christmas!

 

School of Russian Ballet:: The Nutcracker

at Braden River High School Auditorium, Bradenton, FL

Under the artistic direction of Sergiy Mykhaylov and Darya Fedotova, the School of Russian Ballet will present performances of The Nutcracker at 1:00 and 5:00 on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Braden River High School in Bradenton, Florida. Choreography by Vadim Fedotov. The School of Russian Ballet dancers will be joined on stage by International Guest Artists Sergiy Mykhaylov (Ukraine), Maksim Maksimov Spasov (Bulgaria), Andrea Maciel de Faria (Brazil), and Balazs Krajczar (Hungary).

This year on the tour is a lovely home in NW Bradenton and three in the Historic Braden River District. The Holiday Tour of Homes is set for December 3rd and 4th from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Tickets are $12 advance and $15 at the door.
